Cadmium contamination in food crops: Risk assessment and control in smart age
نویسندگان
چکیده
With mankind entering the smart age, Cd contamination risk control in food crop revolution has been put on agenda. Based theoretical basis, technical methods and developing trends, this review look back forward age of driven by ‘genotype (G)+ envirotype (E)’ dual-engines. Focusing G, an inter-specific assessment meta-analysis was carried, which a higher rice wheat than maize observed. So different strategies are recommended to be taken considering difference. To crops with high accumulating characteristic, creation low-Cd can applied two methods: 1) Excavating pyramiding natural variations population 2) designing implementing artificial do not exist population. E, influence environmental factors accumulation discussed strategy using Envirotype-to-phenotype (E2P) models predict implement safety threshold were offered. In foreseeable future, support science, biology, big data, intelligence other interdisciplinary multi-technology, will move toward intelligent, efficient directional, ultimately realizing revolutionary transformation from ‘experience’ ‘smart’.

Contamination and Risk Assessment of Total Aflatoxin in Iranian Rice in Various Food Security Regions
Background and Objectives: Aflatoxin is one of the most important and common toxins in high consumption foods such as rice, which can threaten health of the consumers. In this study, risk of total aflatoxin based on its exposure levels and adverse effects was assessed in Iranian rice. Materials & Methods: This study was carried out on total aflatoxin in 60 national rice samples collected base...

23 The biogeochemistry and bioavailability of cadmium, released during sphalerite 24 weathering in soils, were investigated under contrasting agricultural scenarios to assess 25 health risks associated with sphalerite dust transport to productive soils from mining. 26
متن کاملLegumes Can Increase Cadmium Contamination in Neighboring Crops
Legumes are widely used in many cropping systems because they share their nitrogen fixation products and phosphorus mobilization activities with their neighbors. In the current study, however, we showed that co-cultivation with legumes increased cadmium (Cd) contamination in the adjacent crops. Both field and mesocosm experiments indicated that legumes increased Cd levels in edible parts and sh...
متن کاملFertilizer usage and cadmium in soils, crops and food
Phosphate fertilizers were first implicated by Schroeder and Balassa in 1963 for increasing the Cd concentration in cultivated soils and crops. This suggestion has become a part of the accepted paradigm on soil toxicity. Consequently, stringent fertilizer control programs to monitor Cd have been launched. Attempts to link Cd toxicity and fertilizers to chronic diseases are common. A re-assessme...
متن کاملRadiometric Assessment of Farm Soils and Food Crops Grown in Kuru-Jos, Nigeria
Introduction: Human activities, such as mining, result in the elevation of natural ionizing radiation in the environment. Jos-Plateau, Nigeria, including Kuru-Jos has experienced commercial tin mining in the past, and local mining is still being practiced in this area. Therefore, it is important to assess the radiation exposure due to grown crops and the farm soils in ...
